Tree Planting
April 12 at 10:00AM (Saturday)
Board member Diane Strohm will lead a group of volunteers to plant trees seedlings in a section of the Preserve. We would like 8-10 volunteers to plant 200 Ponderosa pine seedlings across approximately 2-3 acres west of the Memorial Grove. We will also place netting around each seedling to protect them from browsing by deer and other hungry critters. FOMP will supply planting tools. Please bring gloves, water and sunscreen. Meet Diane at trailhead east of Memorial Grove (Nursery and Shilling near the metal gate) at 10:00AM. The project should take about two hours.
Please contact Diane directly at dstrohm AT kellin DOT net or call 481-9214.
Hot Shot and Helitac Dinner
May 1st at 5:30PM (Thursday)
We congratulate the crews on completing their training and wish them a safe and rewarding season out on the fire lines. Family friendly event and sometimes the Helitac crew finishes a practice rappel just before the event starts. Volunteers are needed to cook a potluck dish.
