FOMP will host a Seedling and Tree work session Tuesday night!

May 25 – Tuesday at 6:00 PM – Seedling and Trees get some Tender loving care!

Sorry for the late notice we’ve just been able to schedule this event.

FOMP will be working to “release” seedling trees that are being over run by scrub oak. We will provide all tools. For this project we will be meeting out on the trail rather than in the parking lot. We will meet on Trail 715 on the South side of the old Berry Fire burn area near the Y on 715 up above Yucca Meadow. (this is in the SW corner of the Preserve on 715 – taoo access via the trails go in from the gate on the South side of the preserve and head toward Memorial Grove and then up trail 715 – stay on 715 until you find us)

Let’s meet on 715 at the Y intersection there, 6pm. If you are late, no worries, we’ll be nearby. It is easy to get there hiking/biking in from either Mt Herman road up high or from Memorial Grove down low. The canopy looks like it is coming in right now, lots of the oak is budding out.

FOMP and USFS provide all necessary tools. Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing for performing outdoor landscaping type of work. Volunteers should bring leather gloves, a personal water supply, eye protection, sunscreen, and bug repellent.
